Nauka unexpectedly fires thrusters after docking, tilts space station - NASA explains

The Nauka multipurpose module inadvertently began firing its thrusters after docking with the International Space Station. NASA public affairs officer Rob Navias explains. All the astronauts aboard are safe. -- Russia's Nauka module briefly tilts space station with unplanned thruster fire: https://www.space.com/nauka-module-thruster-fire-tilts-space-station Credit: NASA | edited by Space.com's Steve Spaleta (http://www.twitter.com/stevespaleta) - This isn’t a game. If that thruster were to stay on it could blow the gyros holding the ISS orientation in orbit rendering them useless. Meanwhile Astronauts see the earth becoming larger…

- USA Astronauts need guns to protect themselves. Also they shouldn’t be allowed to return to the ISS. This could have ended very badly
- Russian incompetence. Again.
- China should be banned from anything internationally! After all they have done to the entire world then to try and sabotage the ISS and all the crew on board! Cannot be trusted with anything!
- when you don't turn replicate AG and replicate commands off in simplerockets 2:
- Darn, I hate when the thrusters inadvertently fire, especially when I am in a crowded meeting room, vehicle or restaurant!
- look mom , cartoon network
- I wonder if it was a test to see if they could crash the ISS now that they have got a new Chinese one to go to
- Nauka: look at me im the captain now
- Don't understand why Russia is still part of iss..they side with china. They clearly cant be trusted..🤔
- The big take away for me is that it was necessary to wait until the station was over Russia in order to disable and render "safe" the thrusters on Nauka. .... Not thought out very well and not acceptable is how I would label this deficiency.
- They think that’s bad ffs ,,,, I ran outta papers.
- All this is fine except updated information from Scoville showed that the ISS was tilted 580 degrees, it did a 1½ turn backflip
- Russian Roscosmos became dangerous in any ways...
- 🇺🇸Trump 2024🇺🇸
- How about Russia just be banned from the ISS now? They clearly are incompetent lmao, plus they annexed Crimea and are a horrible country. We don't let China participate; why let Russia participate? They're a dying country; population loss was 800k from 2020 to 2021 due to COVID and natural pop loss. By 2050 they will be even less relevant.
- "I'm aware of the God damned Gible readings"... Jim Lovel Apollo thirteen...
- 3 hours spinning the entire ISS.
Everyone freaked out yelling kill the rockets kill the rockets and locked down all hatches. Now all the ISS fuel on the thruster to keep the ISS in place are near depleted and must be replaced. When those Nauka module rockets fired things got loud metal twisting snapping twisting solar panels cracking air seals hissing power black outs. Wires sparks flying solar panels and wiring being ripped out.
Crazy scary stuff. ISS lost 5-10 years of life due to Nauka module 3 hour rocket damage.
- Oopski!
- Must have been sabotage
